ABOUT
On September 3, 2019 the world lost a very beautiful soul to gun violence. Michael Jerome Young was an angel here on earth who had a passion for working with troubled youth. This was so much of a passion for him that his life was sadly taken by trying to resolve an issue between two adolescent children. Our Non-Profit Organization realized that by working together we could make sure that not only would Michael's name live on forever but that everything he stood for will not be in vain. The Michael Young Foundation strives to bring resources and activities to underprivileged young men, giving them positive role models and activities to keep them off the street and learning to work together instead of against each other.
ACTIVITIES
Michael Young Foundation is in the business of changing and shaping lives of the youth here in our community. The children are our future and it is up to us to equip them to be successful adults. We strive to create opportunities for individuals and the youth in our communities.
MICHAEL YOUNG YOUTH BASKETBALL CAMP
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to help our youth while incorporating the things that Michael loved. This basketball youth camp will bridge the two things that Michael loved, the love of basketball and helping children. This annual camp will be free of charge, giving these youth opportunities that they may not have and equipping them with the skills and techniques that they need to be successful basketball players.
MICHAEL YOUNG BOYS YOUTH CAMP
At Michael Young Foundation, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in making a difference in the lives of the young men in our community. It us up to us to equip them with the skills and knowledge to be successful adults. With this youth camp we want to give young men a place to come together, learn together and grow together.
MICHAEL YOUNG ANNUAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
With this initiative, our goal is to make sure that Michael's 3 children are taken care of as he would have wanted. With the annual mens basketball tournament, all proceeds from this event will go into a trust fund for his three children. We want to make sure that furthering their education is not stopped because of lack of finances.
MICHAEL YOUNG FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
With education being very important to Michael, we want to continue to give back in his honor by gifting scholarships to individuals in our community who are striving to further their educations.
